As the holidays roll around, I just wanted to take a minute think about things that I’m grateful for in my life. We get really wrapped up in the season and kind of the hustle and bustle of family events and vacations and presents and shopping and meals and all these things. I think it’s really important for us to just take a minute and just kind of think about the things that we’re really grateful for.

This year has been an incredible year and I’m really just grateful that I found my passion. You know, it took me a little while to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, what I wanted to do when I grew up. Now that I’m here, I don’t think there’s any place else I’d rather be. I love what I do every single day. I love the people that I work with. I love our incredible patients. I love our community. I’m just so grateful to be able to do something that fulfills me so much, just really gives to me more than I ever give to it.

I’m always grateful for the relationships that are created, the patients that hug me when they leave, the patients that are really nervous and come in with a lot of anxiety and then walk away saying that wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be, or I had a great experience or this changed my life, this changed my, the way I look at myself or change the way I look or just made me feel healthy again, or I’m not in pain anymore. I just feel like we do more than just clean your teeth or fillings, or we actually get to change lives. I’m just really grateful for the opportunity to be able to do that. Not everybody gets to do what they love for their career and I absolutely do.

As the holidays roll around and you all are busy, just take a minute, slow down, think about the things that you’re really grateful for. Look at the people next to you, look at the people around you, and just be grateful for all they bring to your life every day and all year long. Happy Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year from Rowland Family Dentistry.
